Time-Resolved THz Setup

 

The basic scheme of the setup is shown in Fig. 1. Since the core of our laboratory, the Ti:sapphireamplifier delivers pulses with very high energies, the best way to generate and detect he terahertz pulses is based on optical rectification and electro-optic sampling, respectively. For this purpose, we use 1 mm thick <110> -oriented ZnTe crystals. Our terahertz pulses contain spectral components up to ~2.5 THz (Fig. 2). The THz pulses are focused on the sample and onto the sensor using a pair of ellipsoidal mirrors.
